Ven pongal

Ven pongal




  • One cup of raw Rice                                
  • One third cup of yellowmoong dhal                    
  • One tsp of peeper                           
  • Two tsp of Cumin seeds
  • Few pieces of chopped ginger                            
  • Few pieces of chopped green chillies                  
  • Few curry leaves                  
  • Salt to taste
  • Two tbs of Ghee   (melted butter)                           
  • Few Broken Cashewnuts                   
Method

1.Dry roast rice and dhal in a Pan.


2Cook the rice and the dhal in a rice cooker of pressure cooker with one to three ratio water.Heat oil or ghee in a pan add cut ginger,green chillies,powdered cumin seeds and pepper.pour it over the cooked rice and dal,add salt and mash and mix it up well.

.3.Add some more ghee and cashew nuts fried in ghee to enhance the taste.(optional)serve hot with tomato gothsu and coconut chutney.
